SCCOOS has been the subject of or included in various articles in different print media:

 

1) The monitoring and data support effort of SCCOOS partners during the November 2006 Hyperion Treatment Plant discharge diversion event was the subject of an article in the April/May 2007 issue of NOAA’s Coastal Connections. See: http://sccoos.ucsd.edu/docs/

2) An article in the Spring 2007 issue of the NAVAIR Range Department’s Air Time highlights the Navy’s collaboration with SCCOOS and Coastal Data Information Program (CDIP) ocean monitoring programs and January 2007 visit by UC President Robert Dynes of the Sea Range at Point Mugu. As part of a briefing on university collaborations, President Dynes was briefed on the Navy’s partnership activities with SCCOOS and CDIP. See:

3) The Ocean Institute’s Weather & Water 5th Grade Program, a SCCOOS supported educational outreach program was accepted in Spring 2007 into a national publication. The paper will be a chapter in a monograph/book on Exceptional Science Programs, scheduled for Fall 2007 publication, published jointly by the National Science Teachers Association and the American Association of Science and Technology Centers. Recognition of the program at this level is a significant honor
