William FoxDirector, NOAA Southwest Fisheries Science Center
Dr. Fox is currently the Director of NOAA's Southwest Fisheries Science Center. While he has had a 29-year career with NOAA, Dr. Fox was also a professor of marine biology and fisheries and Director of the Cooperative Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Studies at the University of Miami's Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science. His research interests are in quantitative ecology, particularly the theory of ocean life population dynamics. Dr. Fox has authored or co-authored over 60 scientific publications. He has a B.S. in zoology (1967) and an M.S. in marine science (1970) from the University of Miami and a Ph.D. in fishery science (1972) from the University of Washington. |
