Pearn (Peter) NiilerProfessor, SIO
Dr. Niiler is currently a professor at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography and inventor of the “Global Drifter Program", which is the first global ocean observing system component to be completed in 2005. His research interests in the oceans are in circulation theory and observations, Lagrangian particle motions on continental shelf and development of autonomous instrumentation for ocean climate observations. He has his B.S. from Lehigh University (1960) and Ph.D. from Brown University (1964). |
